About Us

Prelude Dance For You is part of Prelude Dance Centre and we would love to share with you a little bit more about our Centre and how we offer Dance Education differently.

At Prelude Dance Centre our dancers develop confidence, are inspired to do their best and love the opportunity to share their Joy for dance within our community.

Our Centre was founded by Kelly Larcombe in 2016 and is run by Kelly and her team of dedicated and caring team members. Our team are innovators and lifelong learners, all with the firm belief that we can never know enough and strive every day to improve their teaching practice and everyone’s experiences at our Centre.

Our Centre is driven forward by Miss Kelly’s personal Teaching Philosophy, as well as our Core Values and Code of Conduct.

Miss Kelly’s Teaching Philosophy

“My philosophy on Dance Teaching is that learning dance should always bring joy and be taught in a way to engage, excite and challenge the dancer. Dance teaching is not just about teaching steps to students, for me dance teaching is about teaching sound technique in a safe and age appropriate way, while nurturing the whole dancer; building self-esteem, confidence, creativity and an understanding of how to take care of their bodies.
Each student that attends my Centre will feel a sense of accomplishment, that they are valued and cared for and have developed life skills that will help them into their future.

I look forward to our Centre being a community who support, encourage and help our students to grow into confident and caring adults.”

Core Values

Our Core Values along with our Code of Conduct underpin everything we do and what we expect from our students, families and team members.

Joy
We create joy in every interaction within our community. We are positive and enthusiastic in our interactions and are aware that we are able to share our joy for dance with others.

Respect and Integrity
We treat others how we would like to be treated. We understand that we are role models and we communicate honestly and in a sensitive manner.

Improvement and Expertise
We are always looking for opportunities to improve and reject stagnation. We work hard to ensure our students are getting the best quality tuition from qualified and expert teachers. We attend professional development and look for ways to improve our Centre in all ways.
